The Oscar elections and ceremony 2017 were a real mess. The writer August Wilson, who wrote the drama "Fences", was nominated in the wrong category, namely "adapted screenplay", but not in the category "original screenplay" in which he seemed to have been belonged.
Therefore these two categories should be opened again, with the possibility of re-nomination.
It seems to me, that in the category "original screenplay" either Wilson should be added as a sixth candidate, or one of the four non-winning candidates / teams (Sheridan, Chazelle, Lanthimos/Filippou, Mills) should be replaced by Wilson.

In the category "adapted screenplay" Wilson should be removed as a candidate and an additional fifth candidate should be added.
The homepage says, a candidate for "adapted screenplay" was "MOONLIGHT Screenplay by Barry Jenkins; Story by Tarell Alvin McCraney". The inclusion of Tarell Alvin McCraney on ballots would also seem problematic to me, but less problematic than the Wilson-thing. "MOONLIGHT Screenplay by Barry Jenkins" might have been better.
Then there should be a recount in these two categories.

P.S.: Thank you, Faye Dunaway & possible Co., without Your supposedly intentional announcement of the wrong Best-Film-Oscar ("La La Land" instead of "Moonlight" ), I very likely wouldn´t have found out.
P.P.S.: Yes, I know that my knowledge of English language is not perfect, but I guess it still is far better than the knowledge of German language of many Hollywood-Stars.
